Emily Jonas (she/her)

Discovering yoga presented Emily with an opportunity to develop a physical vocabulary and, through that, a chance to discover herself. With over 20 years of practice and study, Emily continues to explore the breadth of what yoga has to offer.

As the co-Founder of Boston Yoga Union, and mother of three, Emily knows full well that life is busy, fast, and intense. Emily believes yoga is a practice you engage with for living a more joyful, embodied life. The tools you develop on your mat are skills you take with you into the world as you move through the phases of your life.

Emily weaves alignment, theory, humor and endless curiosity into her teaching to create space that is inclusive and joyful. Her classes help you explore stability, expansion, grace and effort in your practice. Through your practice you learn more about your form and though that, yourself.

Emily has endless respect and appreciation for the teachers who have already walked this path and with whom she has had the chance to study. She is forever grateful for the community that gathers around yoga.

Her continuing studies have included but aren’t limited to, Advanced Studies with Schuyler Grant & Nikki Vilella of Kula Yoga Project, The Wisdom Body, an Iyengar Yoga teacher training program led by Nikki Costello and Lara Warren, and advanced mentorship and teacher training with Nevine Michaan & Abbie Galvin of Katonah Yoga. Emily is a certified Katonah Yoga® teacher.
